It’s important to be able to express yourself. We all do this in different ways at different times. Sometimes using words is helpful but other times music, art, sport and other activities are how we say to the world ‘THIS IS ME’
Try It at Home
If your device doesn’t support the activity above or you just want to try other ways to express yourself you could try the following…
Automatic Drawing
Get a pencil and some paper. Stick on your favourite playlist and let your hand move freely to draw what you hear without taking your pencil off the paper. Curly lines, zig-zags, circles, stars, squiggles and scribbles are all good. A guy called Andre Breton made lots of money selling his art done in this way…so you might feel like a crank doing it but you never know, you might find a new talent!
Dance like nobody is watching
Find somewhere private (or public if you are feeling brave). Stick on some tunes and dance. Dance like nobody is watching. Throw some shapes and bust some moves. Not only is this a good way to express yourself but it is good exercise and exercise is good for your mental health.
Spit Lyrics
You can do this on your own or with some mates. Sit down and take a while to write a poem, a song, a rap or even a letter (you don’t have to send it). If you are with friends you could even set each other a title or subject and make a challenge out of it.
